I popped into the market a couple of times on Sunday and I greatly enjoyed overhearing traders' conversations as always. Sadly, the lack of business was still an issue. Many arts and crafts traders had a terrible day and were lamenting their decision to bother turning up. The view generally was that the whole week was a disaster.
On a brighter note, not wishing to blow my own bugle, many people were talking about this blog and the atmosphere seemed to me lighter as a result. Much of the talk was speculation about who the Whistler might be. Among the suspects were six different traders, two members of the public who've been seen chatting to traders, one shopkeeper and even Barmy! I'd love to let you in on the secret, but all I can tell you at this point is - you're all wrong! I look forward to next week's speculation.
By the way, thank you for your contributions so far. Please keep them coming.

Yes, you certainly have got us all pondering! And whistling!
Whistler, why is this category called Sir Percy Blakeney?
I'm running a little competition for you folks to work out my categories, but I'll give you this one.
Sir Percy Blakeney is the central character in a play and subsequent novel by Baroness Emmuska Orczy. Set in 1792 during the French revolution, the story concerns a secret society of nineteen English aristocrats, led by Sir Percy, who save their French counterparts from execution. Even those closest to him have no idea that Sir Percy is... the Scarlet Pimpernel.
They seek him here, They seek him there,
Those Frenchies seek him everywhere.
Is he in heaven?
—Is he in hell?
That dammed, elusive Pimpernel.
Oh the intrigue my my !As long as this doesn't become A School for Scandal a play by Sheridan I believe. The mood is indeed fluffy . Speak soon Tinkerbell
Hello Alan, how are you? Running the stall this weekend?
Personally I don't care who started this thing. At least someone had the guts to open up a forum for all of us to have our say. Nobody gave a sh*t about us before that. So Whistlers anonymous. So what. I haven't seen anybody else here wanting to leave their name. Specially not the gutless self important Penny Packer. I'm leke all the others. Too scared of a bullying management to leave my name. How sad is that. I never felt picked on and scared at school. I had to wait until I'm a grown up for that.
Yeah right. That note before last. What are you trying to do. If you know who's doing this SHUT UP. The market needs greenwich whistler. You wanna name sumebody you give your own name you coward.
Thanks for that. All support gratefully received. Seriously, to the poster of "Hello Alan, how are you? Running the stall this weekend?", I must say, please don't post names here. If you're right, no-one will ever know - I'm not going to confirm it. If you're wrong, you're exposing an innocent party to damaging speculation for no good reason. You may as well not bother - you don't know me.
Now come on, this is the place to explore my categories, not my identity.
WHERE HAS THE WHISTLER GONE?
